Dr. Amy McConnell is a native of Annapolis, MD. She earned a degree in Mathematics from The College of William and Mary and attended medical school at Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University. She completed her residency and internship at MCV/VCU in Internal Medicine with a focus in Primary Care. Dr. McConnell is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of American College of Physicians. She has practiced medicine as an Internist in the Richmond area for the past 22 years.
Dr. McConnell’s real passion lies in the development of productive physician/patient relationships and she is very excited to be joining Executive Health Group. As a cancer survivor, and with her experience and focus on in-depth and detailed patient care, the group’s access to advanced technology and analytics in combination provide Dr. McConnell an ideal environment in which to practice. Her intention is to accurately predict and identify issues and then immediately partner with the patient to develop solutions that are rational and effective. She is committed to patient needs and always looking for preventative as opposed to reactive care. She has a strong background in women’s health issues and a proven track record in helping female patients understand and navigate their ongoing health and wellness issues. Dr. McConnell invests the time and attention to not only understand what is happening with her patients but more importantly, to help them understand the issue, the recommended solution, and the desired outcome. She believes in being a good and thorough listener and a clear communicator to insure ongoing and long-term success.
Dr. McConnell enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons and Brittany Spaniel. She is an avid reader and enjoys time at the gym, swimming, yoga, and live music.
